The film dives into the marriage of Elizabeth and Tony who are having a rough time as they are growing apart. At the couple’s lowest point, Elizabeth meets an older woman named Clara who teaches her about the power of prayer. Through some teaching, and good old fashion Jesus magic, Elizabeth is put back on the path to saving her marriage and family.

Directed by Norman Jewison and starring Sidney Poitier (Virgil Tibbs) and Rod Steiger (Chief Bill Gillespie). The film follows a black police detective from Philadelphia, who becomes involved in a murder investigation in a racist small town in Mississippi.
